The tour guide was amazing!!!

I’ve been on a lot of private tours, and I have to say this one is for sure one of the top 3 tours I’ve ever been on. It’s not only because the Tower of London is absolutely fascinating to explore and the views of the River Thames from it are spectacular, but our guide, Michael, was the nicest, most knowledgeable guide! He had so many stories to share and even had a few insider information which totally elevated the whole experience. I definitely recommend this tour!

Great tour without waiting in line

I visited London a few times, but I had never visited the Tower of London. The Crown Jewels and the ancient armour were really interesting! Our guide was amazing! He was really interesting and made sure we had a good time. We also had fast access, so we did not have to waste time in the ticket lines.

Tower of London Private Tour

YOUR GUIDE WILL TELL YOU ABOUT ITS LONG HISTORY

The Tower of London was a palace, a prison, an arsenal, a royal mint, a zoo, an archive for public records and was also used for executions. Many famous historical figures were executed in the Tower of London, including Anne Boleyn. The conspirator Guy Fawkes was imprisoned within the tower. The White Tower, one of many, was built within old Roman city walls to control an important port area and the mercantile community that lived in the area.

DISCOVER THE PRECIOUS CROWN JEWELS

During your Tower of London Private Tour, you will have the chance to set your eyes on the Imperial State Crown, a piece that the Queen wore at each State Opening of Parliament. Amongst other priceless and irreplaceable gemstones and jewels, your guide will point out the Sovereign’s Sceptre, which features the largest colourless cut diamond in the world. The collection has 23,578 gemstones and a lot of the pieces are still in use today. Keep an eye out for the ‘in use’ signs, which indicate that the piece is currently being used by the monarchs.

SEE THE WHITE TOWER – THE HEART OF THE TOWER OF LONDON

Your tour through the hallways and rooms of the tower will lead you to the White Tower. Built between 1070 and 1100 by William the Conqueror to instil fear in disobedient citizens, the White Tower is the oldest part of the Tower of London. The top of the White Tower is also the home of the beautiful Romanesque Chapel of St John the Evangelist, where kings and queens worshipped. Prepare to be amazed at the Line of Kings exhibition, a collection of royal armour that has been in the tower for 350 years and is one of the museum’s earliest exhibits.

TRAVEL HUNDREDS OF YEARS BACK IN TIME

Tell your guide if there is anything you don't want to miss when visiting the Tower of London. Explore its interesting past as a zoo and see the intricate sculptures of exotic animals that serve as a reminder of exotic animals that were once presented as royal gifts. The ‘Royal Beasts’ exhibition will give you an insight into how these animals used to live in the heart of London. Do not miss out on the permanent collection focusing on the Tower of London’s history as a working Mint that made most of the country’s coins for over 500 years. For a unique perspective on life during that period, interactive outdoor installations have been set up so that you can fully immerse yourself.
